As far as known Kutenhausen was founded in 600 - 800 AD.

1258 Kutenhausen is documented for the first time.
1727 A granary is erected.
1820 A bakery is built.
1840 The dwelling house in Rodenbergschen Stätte 11 is transformed into a school.
1841 The first school is founded in Kutenhausen. On February 28th the first teacher takes up his job and teaches 84 children.
1885 On the other side of the street a new school building is inaugurated, the basis for todays’ school. By now there are 150 scholars and a second teacher is engaged.

1907 Consecration of the Christuskirche (Christ Church) in Todtenhausen. Kutenhausen and Todtenhausen, forming the third parish of the Mariengemeinde (parish of Mary), get their own house of God.
The sports club is founded.
1921 A memorial in remembrance of the dead of the district Kutenhausen is inaugurated.
1964 The memorial for the dead is deconstructed, in its place a new street crossing is built.
1967 A new memorial for all dead of the wars is erected in the cemetry.
1979 The district cycle path is inaugurated. The former line of the MKB (Mindener Kreis Bahn – Minden Regional Train) between Kutenhausen and Wegholm is transformed into a 10 km cycle path that leads many bikers through Kutenhausen today.
1989 Founding of the Heimatverein on April 25th, the first chairman is Heinz Rohlfing.
1992 The new bell of the old school is tolled for the first time. In the year 1924 the original bell rang for the very first time, in 1975 it grew silent. The bell tower was renewed in 1947. Now in 1992 the replica of the original bell is restored. The bell can be heard three times a day, at 8 o’clock a.m., at noon and at 6 o’clock p.m., always three times nine strokes.
Kutenhausen takes part in the competition “Unser Dorf soll schöner werden” (looking for the most beautiful and prosperous village) – the result: 3rd place.
1994 The Heimathaus is inaugurated.
Kutenhausen again takes part in the competition “Unser Dorf soll schöner werden” – the result: 2nd place.
1996 Kutenhausen again takes part in the competition “Unser Dorf soll schöner werden” – this time the result: 1st place.
1997 Kutenhausen is named Kulturmusterdorf in Eastern Westfalia.
A playground with the name “Kinner Spierlwisk” is planned and built with a lot of personal contribution.
The old tradition of making a harvest crown is revived by the Agricultural Association. The harvest crown is brought to the Heimathaus.
From December onwards Kutenhausen is to be found on the internet.
1998 In June the three-storey new building of the primary school Kutenhausen is inaugurated.
In November on Remembrance Day Loni Niemanns’ collection “Kutenhausen – Die Gefallenen des II. Weltkriegs“ („Kutenhausen – the dead of WW II“) is presented in a beautiful wooden case.
1999 In January the Heimatverein Kutenhausen presents itself on the international exhibition “Grüne Woche” in Berlin.
In March on the ocassion of its 10-year existence the Heimatverein Kutenhausen publishes the second Low German book of Werner Vauth.
In June Kutenhausen takes again part in the competition “Unser Dorf soll schöner werden” in the special group of former winners – the result: 2nd place.
In November Loni Niemanns’ second collection “Kutenhausen – Die Besitzfolge der Höfe 1 – 40” (“Kutenhausen – the ownership of the farms 1 – 40“) is presented in a beautiful wooden case.

2000 7th July 2000: opening event of the LandArt festival.
Completion and inauguration of the village archive.
In the course of the year the Rhien gets renaturalized. The former narrow straight river now runs naturally again.
In the course of the EXPO Kutenhausen takes part in the initiative „Festival der Dörfer“ („Festival of the villages“) in Bökendorf/Brakel, district Paderborn.
2001 Start of the conversion of the old fire station.
The new purpose: A workshop for old-fashioned craft and a workshop for new media.
Sepp Bonauer cuts a totem pole, which is erected in the playground. In May a playground festival takes place to inaugurate the totem pole.
2002 Kutenhausen takes part in the competition “Unser Dorf hat Zukunft” (“Our village has a future”) – the result: 1st place.
Taking part in the second LandArt festival. The chosen theme: “The King is coming”, a historical spectacle showing a tour of inspection of Friedrich II. of Prussia, called the Great (the old Fritz), throug his eastern Westfalian provinces.
Taking part in the LandArt symposium. This creates the possibility to experience at first hand the making of a work of art.
In Kutenhausen the sculptor Werner Ratering from Havixbeck makes a sculpture developing a relation between the Heimathaus and the school entitled Good's Diary..
The children from the primary school make their own works of art under the guidance of the study group “Kirche & Kunst” (“Church & Art”).
As the last project in the course of the honoration as Kultur-Musterdorf a bakery is built.
2003 TV show “Dorfplatz live” in Kutenhausen – 300 spectators join in spontaeously.
2004 For the third time taking part in the LandArt festival with a creative week. The children from the primary school create phantasy figures with the help of the study group “Kirche & Kunst”.
Under the direction of the artist Heidelinde Regittnig from Hermagor, Austria, Acryl pictures of a very special kind are painted.
On the banks of the Rhien the artist Gunnar Heilmann creates a sculpture from oak trunks that makes a “green classroom” for the children of the primary school.
2005 With the help of volontary work the chapel in the cemetry is renovated.
Kutenhausen takes part in the competition “Unser Dorf hat Zukunft” ( “Our village in the future” ) – the result: 2nd place in the special group.
2006 Start of the reconstruction and reorganisation of the cemetry. A hill with a sun dial is laid out, a lawn is transformed into a meadow with flowers and radial paths.
For the forth time taking part in the LandArt festival. A special lighting design around the Heimathaus and 1.500 lanterns on the cemetry with readings and songs make up a very special evening.
2007 Important jubilee!
The Christuskirche (Christ Church) Kutenhausen/Todtenhausen, the trombone orchestra and the sports club SVKT 07 celebrate their 100th birthday. A series of events marks the occasion.
Foundation of a history society to make up a chronical of Kutenhausen for the 700 year jubilee.
